Draught. Very dark chestnut colour. Very small head. Disappointing flavour. Disappointingly thin mouthfeel. Tastes like it is brewed on sugar. Roasted flavour and some sourness/acidity. Low bitterness.

Bottle. Peppery aroma with some spicy yeast notes. Dark reddish copper colour, big stable rocky head leaving lace. Very malty and peppery flavour with some warming alcohol touch. The yeast is noticably phenolic. They should have gotten more out of a beer with this strength.

A deep red beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet matly with light notes of berries as well as hints of acidity. The flavor is sweet malty with OK notes of berries, and with a dry end.

(bottle) Clear and dark reddish brown colour with a big but diminishing foamy tanned head. Dense sweet and slightly toastmalty nose with dried fruits and a touch of coffee. Sweet flavour, medium body and soft carbonation. Sweet malty taste with raisins and a sugary sweet malty finish with a light bitterness. Decent and overrated Bock.

Bottle: Dark ruby to dark amber coloured, brownish mid-sized head; sweetish fruity (raisins, molasses) and malty (grainy, roasted) nose with a touch of hops; sweet malty taste, medium bodied, slightly fruity-malty finish with a quite weak touch of bitterness. Not really bad, but boring !

(bottle) Clear red-brown colour with a mid-sized foamy, slightly off-white head. Dense sweet malty aroma with a touch of caramel, quite vinous when it warms up. Sweet flavour, medium body. Initially sweet malty taste, slightly toasty and caramelly, quite thin, malty and light fruity finish with notes of chestnuts.

50cl stone crock from Morrisons. Dark ruby coloured beer with thick lasting tight beige head. Dark roasted malts, dark skinned fruits with chocolate, damsons and black cherry. Superb beer, lovely dark flavours. Slightly vinuous in mouth. Finish has some dryness. Bit one dimensional, but what a dimension.

(Bottle 30 cl) Neat, fully golden colour with a fine, white head. Lovely malty aroma. Flavour of sweet malt and a short, dry bitter finish. Decent and quaffable pilsener. 051005
