Cask at Loose Cannon Brewery members night (Cheers Will) Abingdon, Oxon, Tuesday 9th December 2014. Pours mid/dark brown, spicy nose with a little nutmeg perhaps, Loz gets Star Anise, Will cinammon. A little sweet, soft in mouth finishes with a caramel flourish. I speak to the brewer to query the spices and I am told that there is no spice at all in here it is just ginger. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask at Loose Cannon Brewery members night Abingdon, Oxon, Tuesday 9th December 2014. Very decent hoppy amber beer the Pacific Gem offering a really nice hoppy bite. Quite dry and lacking much in sweetness, it is pretty bitter, good, better than expected in fact. I forgot to mention it is also quite malty on nose. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Cask, gravity dispense at Blackbeards Tea Party gig, Cornerstones, Didcot, Oxon, Friday 24th October 2014 Pours amber with white head. Traditional bitter, but a little hoppier than normal, dry finish. Good robust and fruity bitter. Pretty tasty, enjoyable but not one I would want all night. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14. 3.4

Cask, gravity, at The North Star, Steventon, Oxon, Saturday 19th July 2014 Pours dark, chestnut in colour, hazy in terms of clarity. Malty, chewy getting just a little tired. Just about ok I guess, but one of the poorer Loose Cannon beers. A5 A3 T5 P3 Ov10 2.6

Bottle from Old Stand, Mullingar [050614]
Reddish caramel brown, clear, slightly off white off head, slight lacing
Aroma of soft toffee malts, soft fruity malt, slight zest hop, got a bit of an odd burnt toffee note initially
Taste of caramel malts, soft toffee, bit earthy, some bitter bit zesty hops, dab of buttery toffee toasted malts, the toffee malts are a bit unusual
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, fairly bitter. Finish is quite dry, some earthy hops, toasted malts, dab of burnt toffee, fairly bitter linger
Overall - Thought this was a bit odd at first then got adjusted to it...not too bad, fairly average tbh. Prob much better on cask

Bottle from Millets Farm, Frilford, near Abingdon. Deep gold with a thin white head. Harsh bitterness at first but then orange and lemon come through. Hay in the long, dry, bitter finish. Maybe a little thin (although the hop resins go some way to making up for this), and maybe just a tad too bitter. But overall a pretty tasty golden ale.
