Cask @ Record Cafe, Bradford. Very mildly hazed golden ale with a creamy head. Has a hoppy nose with a light watermelon like fruitiness in its taste.

Cask @ Sportsman, Huddersfield. Golden with a creamy head. Its vanilla is light and smooth and lingers to provide a fine lasting flavour, with some in its aroma too.

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Not far off black. Slimmest ring of tan head. Nose has salty chocolate. Some soy. Light caramel. Taste is mostly sweet, with a little salinity. Thin body. A little vinous acidity. Thin, roast malt bitterness to finish.

Cask. Bier Huis, Ossett. Very dark, chocolate brown. Super dense, creamy, lasting, pale tan head. Looks like a nitro pour. Nose has peanut butter. Chocolate. Caramel. Then there’s a tangy, dried cherry, vinous thing going on, presumably from the whisky barrel. Taste follows suit, with some chocolate and caramel sweetness, and the vinous like tang. Smooth mouthfeel. Incredibly easy drinking for the ABV. Very decent, but the barrel ageing hasn’t so much added depth here, but rather caused a distraction. Maybe it will benefit from sitting a while.
