Description
Wylam Brewery was set up in a disused dairy on a farm near Heddon on the Wall in May 2000 by John Boyle and Robin Leighton driven by their passion for real ale. The brewery grew rapidly on the strength of the quality of its ales, winning awards at festivals around the UK. They outgrew the original 1000L plant in 2006 and brought on-stream a new 3500L plant in August in a bespoke barn conversion. Since then they have enjoyed continued strong growth. In Summer 2016, the brewery moved to its current location at the same time expanding to a 30BBL plant.

Cask @ Brandling Villa, Gosforth [010313] as Lord Collingwood Ale
Blonde, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of light pale malts, touch of sweet caramel, very little aroma
Taste of light pale malts, touch of cereal, light sweet malt, hint of citrus, dull
Palate - thin body, bit oily. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Can’t say much about this as it was boring...dull watery stuff...was selling well at the pub as some people like this sort of beer....I don’t

Seemed to be a special for the Court Inn in Durham city centre, with an over-inflated price for bitter. It’s a smooth clear golden ale with a thick white head and light malts for flavour.
