473ml can. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, minimally toasty and bready, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of toffee, dark caramel, fudge, some nougat, a weak touch of burnt caramel. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, slightly toasty and nutty, dark malty, notes of dark caramel, a touch of burnt caramel, diluted hints of toffee, fudge, fruity overtones with a touch of plum, plum wine, a very light alcoholic touch. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, mild but a tad too prickly carbonation. Fairly but not overly complex - nice, suitable Winter Warmer.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Kontula, 20230118) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized, dense, white and it lasted long. Aroma had earth, malts and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, malts, caramel, toffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. The hop notes weren't quite strong in the aroma but were clearly present in the taste. Nice malty brew with sweet and hoppy notes.

Surprised this was not listed, evidently its a very common aviator brew. Got this one from total wine in NC. From a can its pale yellow. Smells like any other noble hops pale lager brew. Up front this beer is quite tasty and refreshing. Seems to be a normal civilized lager for a change; everything is so hoppy or convoluted these days so its nice to just have a friendly normal beer. Actually comes across more mild than the 5% its listed at. As a lager lover I'm really appreciating this brew. Just a tad of bitter noble hops hiding in the background. A little bit of pepper seems to be in there as well. Very pleasant finish. Good overall beer drinker experience. Thanks aviator for the well made pale lager.

Pounder can from total wine durham. Pour is crystal clear yellow and it smells like good fresh lager. But yet in the initial flavor, it does posses some rude ale attributes; almost annoyingly bitter, but not in the style of hops, more like an astringent bite to it. Has a good level of co2, however, that does not hide the sharp astringent bitter bite that gets even more apparent in the middle. Towards the end, it needs a few more manners. Gets a little ruff around the edges. Almost finishes like a brew that has some attributes of a rookie brewer.

2 week old can A: Poured a muddy dark orange gold with1/4 of lasting foam. S: Sweet and tart lemony citrus. T: Bitter and quite tart with citrus elements joined by woody malts. Comes together pretty well and ends with a hint of warming alcohol. M: Soft carbonation, medium light body and a smooth finish. O: Another NEIPA, but at least this has some bitterness and flavor balance. Not bad.

Pint can thought to be 2-3 months old A: Dark brown to black pour with plum highlights. 1/4 of head that fell quickly to a ring. Ample lacing. S: Light roasty aroma of coffee nuts, chocolate and faint vanilla. T: Bitter and roasty coffee and chocolate notes joined by light caramel or obviously vanilla. Well balanced and light on sweetness. I'm sure the coffee is more pronounced when fresh but no complaints. M: Average carbonation level, medium light body, finishing with light resin but otherwise pretty clean. O: I expected this to be a cloying mess and I'm not generally a fan of Aviator but I must admit it's pretty nice.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 1 Sep 2019) Pale amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of grain, bread, citrus, toast and apricots. Malty taste with cereal, bread, apricots, pine needels and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, dry. Uncomplicated, but tasty and refreshing. Quite enjoyable.
