Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lace. Tropical fruit, hops and malt aroma. Medium to full body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Malt, chocolate and coffee aroma. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, coffee and fudge. The finish is roasty with a malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle: Clear, copper-amber with a thick beige head. Earthy caramel malt aroma. Taste is toasty caramel malt, slightly nutty..... Starts out a bit watery, but after a bit of warming it starts coming around....Strongly malty....mild earthy bitterness. More along the lines of a hoppy amber...pretty good.

Bottle from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar
Pitch black color, medium sized head. The aroma is mainly dark bread. Solid body, although the alcohol contributes to keep the sweetness feeling down; dark chocolate character; a bit leathery, with hints of oak and vanilla; smooth final.
Excellent.

2015 beer advent calendar. Pours straight black. Nice dark head retains well. Thick full bodied mouthfeel with roastiness dominating the flavour. Drink quite warm. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12fl.oz. bottle. From 2015 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours an opaque black with a small, short lived, brown head that leaves spotty lacing. Roasted malt aroma with dark chocolate and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, molasses and coffee with a hint of alcohol in a dry, slightly bitter finish. Full body with a thick, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely done.
