Cask handpump at the brewhouse. Opaque black mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is soft roast, tangy berry, earthy wood, yesterday’s campfire, hint of lactose sweetness. Flavour is woody twig, little dried fruit/ berry, tangy apple with a whisper of tart. Smooth choc roast is light. Palate is medium light bodied, a bit watery on the tongue. Semi sweet lactose sugars. Lingering tangy berry fruits and subtle roast.

Cask at the BP during my 40th bash, 11/10/14. Dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki covering. Nose is light roast, spice, chocolate, coffee cake. Taste comprises light roast, subtle hoppy tunes being played, toffee, light cocoa. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent offering.

Cask handpump at the brewhouse. Mostly clear golden coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Some lacing. Aroma is fruity berry, grassy lemon citrus hop, hint of grainyness. . flavour is crisp grainy, hint of spicy rye and nice berry, lemon hop. Hint of grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Some chalk in the water profile. Solid well balanced hop bitterness. Palate is semi sweet, decent cask condition. Lingering grassy hop. OK.

Clear dark brown / ruby red pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is earthy roast, coffee and nutty, light berry. Flavour I’d nutty, berry, Roasty, tart berry. . palate is tart berry medium body! Pretty solid.

Cask at the brewery. Golden orange coloured pour with a fleeting white head. Aroma is nutty caramel malts with a light spicy hop. Flavour is caramel nutty malt, tea bag, light staling. Palate is some staling light lowish carbonation. Tasty enough.

Cask at the brewery. Aroma is spicy hop, pollen, floral, light biscuit malts. Light hazed no head, golden light orange pour with no head. Flavour is staling spicy hop, tea bag, grain tanin. Palate is grainy, light crisp, good cask condition. OK a bit stale.

Cask at the brewery in Islington. Light amber orange with a halo of white head. Aroma is berry, nutty malt, caramel. Flavour is light berry, biscuity malt and some sweet honey. Palate is semi sweet, light carbonation. OK. Firm bitterness.

Cask at the brewpub during my 40th birthday crapsling, 11/10/14. Clear copper with a decent off white/egg shell white covering. Nose is dark fruit peel, straw, spice, bitter orange, toffee. Taste comprises bitter orange, straw, light spice, bready notes, bitter dark fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter resonance. Ok ESB.

Cask at the Brew pub during my 40th Shenans, 11/10/14. Clear golden with a moderately appointed off white covering. Nose is orange, straw, citric peel, light bread dough. Taste comprises much the same, rather bland, citric peel and grass. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair.
