Description
Since our birth in 2013, we’ve committed ourselves to producing the highest quality beers, and being at the forefront of brewing innovation and efficiency. Early in 2014 we were the very first UK-based craft brewery to can their full core range. Customers expect their beer to be fresh and flavourful and we believe that cans - with their protection from light and superior seal, combined with lower environmental impact - help us to get them the beer in the best possible condition!

In 2018 the brewery and brand was bought by Lion Brewery of Australia, who are owned by Kirin of Japan. Lion's global craft beer subsidiary is named Little World Beverages.

In 2022 Lion breweries have sold Fourpure to Odyssey Inns.

440ml can. Orange-gold and hazy pour with small white head, some retention. Aroma is citrus notably orange, quite aromatic with the flavourings coming through but would prefer some more hops. Taste is fairly sweet, bready malts, a strong bucks fizz, softer grapefruit, citrus zest. Modest bitterness for the style. Body is moderate to chewy, average carbonation. It doesn't taste like a 8% ABV. Nice but probably average for a DIPA.

Can from LCB, consumed 3 months before BBE. Pours amber-gold, clear, consistent white head. Aroma and taste has that classic slightly overripe citrus and tropical vibe although pale malt and white pepper also evident. Medium bodied, light chewy, fine carbonation; all of which work well here. Decent.

Can from LCB, consumed 4 months past BBE. Not one of the hoppier lager styles so I'm hoping this is ok. Cloudy golden-amber with a nice consistent off-white top. A sweet grain, honey, cereal and floral-spice hop aroma - inviting. Taste has an excellent malt detail for the style with the same notes as aroma, with some light fruit esters and Pils grassiness in the finish. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Superb lager; I wasn't expecting this from Fourpure and its by far my favourite of the 10 beers I've tried from them so far. They have created something great here but sadly being England, selling a flavoursome lager will be a tough sell if they want to upscale.

330ml can. Mostly clear pale gold with white consistent head, good lacing. Aroma of grains and hint of citrus. Taste of grains, white bread, light citric note. Watered down flavour, refreshing, no real off notes. Light bitterness, low carbonation for the style and no real crispness. Boring.

Can from Lidl. Clear gold with small white top which fades. Grainy aroma with some hay dust and light fruit. The later is more prevalent in the taste - getting a bit of banana and pear skin. Its still predominantly grain noted with some light grassy hop in the finish. Near medium body and still refreshing but the carbonation is undercooked for a lager. Mixed.

Can from Beer52. Near black pour with nice beige head. Chocolate hobnob aroma with some roasted malt and sour berries. Oats are doing there thing here leaving a nice soft medium bodied mouthfeel and slightly imparting in the flavour. Taste wise though it has a mellow pleasantness to it but to the point of boring. A bit of chocolate, oat, light roast, berry; nothing standing out. Nice balance to it though.

Can from Beer52. Semi hazed orange-gold with small white top. Reasonable juicy tropical aroma with some leafiness. Taste of grapefruit, orange rind, melon, a slight toasted malt note. Slick near medium body, fine carbonation, low bitterness, very light spice/pine needle tingle. Could do with a bit more in the finish but its a tasty pale.
