Cask (gravity) @ NBF 2015 [ The 40th. Nottingham Beer Festival (The 8th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival) ], Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EB. [ As Pipes Rye IPA ].Clear medium amber orange color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, rye, pale malt, moderate hoppy, fruity, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, rye, sweet malt, pale malt, fruity - fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Tried at the Hop & Barley, Lincoln. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma malty and floral. Taste light sweet. Nice

Keg at the Blue Moon, Cambridge. Very black with a suggestion of indigo. Light smell if coffee and roast malt. Some sweetness in the taste. Grape juice and liquorice. More coffee notes in the finish. Refreshing but doesn’t really hit the spot according to advertised style... or on its own merits for that matter.

On tap at the cardinals hat, Lincoln. Slight haze on this golden coloured beer. Tropical fruity aroma. Taste light sweet to light bitter sweet with a fruity juicy finish. High carbonation.

On gravity at Steel City Beer Fest 2015 - Deep black with a feint tan head. Nose is heavy with coffee, chocolate, liquorice and cough syrup. Taste is strong and warming, can feel the alcohol warmth, smooth and dark flavours. Nice stout.

Bottle shared during the London Bimble, vol. I. Thanks to Scoopey for this scoop. Pours hazy gold with a frothy white head. Certainly some autumnal spices in the nose. Medium sweet, with slight berries, bread. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Lightly spicy and bready to close. Just OK.

Gravity cask at Nottingham festival 2015. Clear deep golden color. Fruity aroma with caramel and light spice. Taste is spiced toasted caramel. Tasty.

Bottle on the train to Tourist Town, thanks to da Wingman, 19/11/14. Golden with a big ass light beige covering. Nose is melon, caramel, trace of apple blossom, biscuit. Taste comprises floral hops, melon, hint of tangerine, light bread dough. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, earthy bitter rinse in the close. Mediocre, ESB more than IPA, another wanna be craft brewer coming up short!
