Cask at Temple Brew House. It pours clear amber - brown with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, wood, porridge, cereal, toasty grain, twig and leather. The taste is bitter, toasty grain, wood, earth, leather, but, twig, cereal, dried fruits, date, earth and touch of toffee with a drying, twiggy finish. Medium body and limited carbonation. Pretty old - skool in style. A bit twiggy for my taste.

Cask at Temple House. It pours jet black with a thick, sturdy tan head. The aroma is earthy, toasty, umami, smoked meats, dark chocolate, umami, liquorice and mocha coffee. The taste upfront is...tart, sour, tangy, plenty of acidity, sour plum and lemon juice. Once that dissipates there is some earthy roast, tannin and cacao. Finish is earthy and tannic. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. It looks good, but is clearly infected. Tis a shame.

Cask at Temple Brew House. It pours clear brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is earthy, wood, twig, leather, toffee, cereal, brown bread and toasted nut. The taste is dry, bitter, Woody, earth, twig, leather, cereal, toasted nut, some alcohol, chewy malt, tannins and burnt toffee. Finish is dry and woody. Medium body and soft carbonation. Perhaps a bit old - skool, but drinkable enough for a boosty bitter

It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is charred action, earth roast, ash and cacao. The taste is rather bitter, savoury, loads of earth roast, charred wood, coffee grounds, ash, spice, leather, tannin and cacao nibs. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Perhaps a bit earthy and ash for me. Not bad.

Cask at Temple Brew House. It pours clear amber with a quickly dissipating off-white head. The aroma is rather spicy, sweet toffee, earth, wood, toasted grain and fall leaves. The taste is bitter, earth, wood, warming spice, leather, toasted nut, cereal and brown bread with a drying finish. Medium body and limited carbonation. Lacks a bit of condition. Comes across as a spicy bitter rather than Belgian blonde. OK.

Keg at Temple St Brew House. It pours clear orange - amber with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, funky, tart, tangfastics, orange sherbet, sour peach and tangerine. The taste is crisp, tart, loads of lemony sherbet, sour orange, tangerine, sour candy, light acidity. quite clean and earthy funk with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Pretty impressed with this sour candy ale. Good work.

Dark brown colour, minimal creamy beige head; aroma and taste of smoked cheese, roasted rye bread, slight herbal notes and some dark chocolate; good smoked porter, though obviously watery
