Description
Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (Brewed by Women) originated as a hobby of two sisters from Amsterdam. They started brewing beer in 2013, at home in a 35 liter pan. They mastered the brewing process through trial and error. Now they know exactly how to make a fresh, sweet and tasty beer. At home they continue to experiment to keep creating new beers. The best beers are brewed in large quantities for everyone to enjoy!

330ml can. Pours a light amber with off white top, decent retention. Aroma has a nice big ginger note but does override anything else. Taste wise the malts do come through but are fairly basic and almost cardboard like. The ginger then kicks in nicely with some decent flavour and heat without being overdone.

This is better than any soda version of ginger beer I have had - less sugary and watery with more flavour from the ginger. Nonetheless as a beer its very one-noted even if that note is good.

Friday evening, 28th February 2025, Margie is out having a girly meal out and I'm home alone with Bertie (my 12 year old Collie) and having a mini beer tasting. Third up in the session is a 330ml can of this (via Beer52). Clean golden body, wispy white head. Very floral aroma, Elderflower leading the way, taste the same with Elderflower everywhere. Too much Elderflower for me to be honest.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A golden amber pour with a thick white head; overpowering elderflower aroma; yeasty taste with more elderflower; and a dry floral finish with a lasting bitterness. The elderflower is rather overdone - the ingredients list elderflower extract as well as actual elderflowers. Not really my kind of thing.
