Description
Our ale house is Derbyshire's first micropub. Originally a butchers shop, we have transformed it into a cosy and friendly place to enjoy a drink and a chat with friends and total strangers. The bar is an old Methodist chapel pulpit andfrom here we serve our own beers brewed 30 yards away plus up to 6 guest ales, most of which are rarely seen in Derbyshire. 3 real ciders and a selection of wine are also available. Very often we have musicians turn up for an impromptu accoustic session.

Handpull cask at the Marlpool Brewey Alehouse, Marlpool. Mid-to dark brownish gold with a tiny ring of white head. Caramel, stone and tropical fruit, slightly medicinal aroma. Sweet taste with the stone fruit coming through, some Gritty malt, light suggestions of 1950s cough syrup. There's a nice lingering bitterness in the finish. All in all very drinkable.

Cask handpump at The Burnt Pig, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Saturday 22nd April 2017 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Pours deep copper, this is my second very traditional beer, however it’s a very decent effort, fruity and even a little juicy but very English, the bitterness is even very pleasant. I like this.
