341ml bottle. [Vintage 2016] Pours a clear red-brown with a thin, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, overripe fruit and alcohol. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, overripe fruit, brown sugar and a hint of oak with warming alcohol in the finish. Medium body with a sticky, oily texture and soft carbonation. A pleasant surprise.

355ml bottle, a screw-top bottle of all things which is sumpthin’ I don’t appreciate on a barley wine of all things - like, chug! chug! chug! Is that the barleywine motto? Nah, didn’t think so. Has minimal head and dark ruby clear colour. Candy, rosewater, toffee on the nose. Flavour is thick caramel with candy sugar molasses hints. Alcohol is not present, so a point for that. Very pancake-syrup like, kinda if you mixed Aunt Jemima with a few shots of vodka.... hey, that’s giving me ideas if I’m hard up for booze or barleywine at 3am and the craft beer store is closed. Must investigate....

Minimal hops aroma, fruit gold body and no noticeable head. Sweet and strong flavour with a hint of hops. A little overpowered with no finesse to all this brute force.

Modest off-white head and nearly black body. Aroma of roasted barley and water, hints of coffee but not much. Flavour is coffee beans and barley with a watery mouthfeel. Rather boring on all accounts.

Looks like this is Craft Beer Market’s local brew, as brewed by other people that it. Has a soft nutty aroma, decent head and a dark brown ruby body. Flavour is a great hazelnut and malt mix. It’s a decent amber drink.

Okay gold body and very soft lager aroma. Average lager body and refreshing mouthful. Not bad and quite drinkable.

Nice brown body and hints of nut on the nose. Okay sweet malt flavour. Mouthfeel could use a little more oomph. Not bad if you intend to drink litres and litres of it.

Nice aroma of coriander and pumpkin spice. Has a huge head and foggy orange body. NIce soft pumpkin flavour, not too overbearing. A little too weak on the mouth though. This is nice however, and highly drinkable.
