Description
Gargoyles brewery was started in a former cowshed in November 2005 by Roger Strudwick. In 2009, it was taken over by Andy Oakes and renamed Isca Ales.

Cask @ GBBF, Birmingham. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich coffee, chocolte, roast malt, hops and has a nice long coffee finish.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2017. Mildly hazed golden ale. It has mild caramel notes within a hoppy character and a small bitter finish.

Cask at the 28th Ealing Beer Festival. Pours hazy straw to pale gold with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of wheat, banana, banana sweets, and a touch of chocolate, citrus and spice. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Gravicask at Tuckers Malting Beer Festival. Shiny naked surface. Almost black in body appearance. Black chocolate malts on the nose. Chocolate malts to the taste buds as well. Dark malty ending, slightly roasted. Decent. (Newton Abbot 27.04.2017).

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Tewkesbury Winter Beer Festival 3/2/2017 as an Isca beer and at 4.8% ABV. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sweetish aroma of milk chocolate and toasty malts. Flavour was also sweet, with more chocolate and caramel, a hint of berry fruit and dryish finish. Fine.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2016. Darker coloured ale with a good sweetness to it. Clearly unfixed but this doesn’t affect its taste and flavour too much.

Cask at the Babington Arms; dark opaque brown pour with a creamy tan head, aroma has stewed prunes and a hint of coffee, taste has a hint of chocolate, dark fruits.

Cask (handpump) @ Babington Arms (JDW), 11-13 Babington Lane, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE1 1TA. [ As Isca Dawlish Ale ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy, flowers, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, sharp, hoppy, pale malt, chlorinenotes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150214] 6-3-6-3-12
