Description
Gargoyles brewery was started in a former cowshed in November 2005 by Roger Strudwick. In 2009, it was taken over by Andy Oakes and renamed Isca Ales.

bottle from Budleigh Wines. Haqzy golden, mid-sized hwite head. Malty base, quite intensive hop flavours, slightly grassy and resiny with a fruity touch.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear medium orange amber color with a small to average, frothy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, light apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, apple, vomit, caramel, sweet malt, riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20121204]

Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, dark chocolate malt, malt bitter, good balanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121204]

Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Light crisp palate, semi dry. Nice floral tangerine with a trace of lemon and lime. Floral dominated though. Finishes semi dry. A tasty and interesting beer.

bottle from Budleigh Wines. Hazy deep golden colour, mid-sized, creamy off-white head. Malty base, pleasantly sweet, with a good amount of aromatic hops, resulting in a bitter-sweet overall character. A very pleasant ale.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Clear mid golden with a thin white head that soon dissipates. Nose is orchard fruits, light caramel, citrus. Taste follows, citrus notes, caramel, light hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Ok.

Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer, residual tan head. Light semi dry palate. The malt has sweet caramel and a little toffee! Mild floral sweetness. Mild marmalade hops with a sprinkle of dried fruits. Semi dry finish. Curious beer but I liked it.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours orange with a light, white foam head. Ripe orange citrus aroma. Medium sweet flavor, some ripe orange, white bread, light herbs, dough. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with sticky citrus, mango and light peach. Decent.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12. Pale golden with a small white head that soon thins. Nose is rather muted, light malt and hops, little doing! Taste offers a little more, pale malt, light citrus tones. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a bitter finihs, Dull !
