Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 27 October. Poured a clear amber colour with a tight white head. Spicy aroma with some floral hops and caramel. Flavours of fruit cake, plumbs and straw. Finish was grain, toffee and grassy hop.

Deep amber with a creamy head. It’s a robust malty ale with a very small grain in its nose. A session beer.

Cask at the moon under water Watford jdw. Light amber orange colour with a persistent off white head and lace. Aroma is cherry bakewell, nutty malt and some twigs. Flavour is nice rich autumnal flavours, twigs, blackberry and nutty malt. Good condition, fine carbonation. Nice dryish finish. Good beer.

Cask handpull at County Hotel Ashford. Clear mid brown colour lasting beige head. It’s an ok best bitter. Some malty fruit up front. Little bit of hop on the finish. At least it isn’t full of diacetyl. Ok

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Golden amber with a scummy looking white head; fruity aroma; crisp fruity taste; and a clean, lingering bitterness to finish. Pretty good.

The pump clip simply read ’Special’ rather than SPA but it is the same drink. Lighter golden with not much head, it has a pleasant drier malty character to it.

Cask at the Willow Walk, JDW - London. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a frothy white head. Creamy pale malt nose with touches of citrus. Light sweet flavor with Fritos, hay, crispy cereal and bitter lemon rind. Light bodied with fine, silky carbonation. Further citrus rind bitterness to finish, corn and cereal, light doughy pale malts, hay. Interesting stuff.

500ml bottle from Les Crepes de Sophie, Shrewsbury. Very light body, almost transparent light yellow colour. Sweet desert apples, refreshing summer taste with a light, session-level percentage.
