Cask @ Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Copper colour, very clear. Small tenacious white head. The aroma is complex: malt, spruce, petrol, caramel. Initially bittersweet taste, with bitter/sour notes increasing. Bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is overlaid with an unexpected viscosity.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Balck colour. Heay malty and light hoppy aroma. Toffee and bready notes. Light bitter very light roasted flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.

Cask-conditioned at the Salamander, Bath 21/9/2013. Amber with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, orange peel and biscuity malts with a hint of pineapple. Easy drinking, with a fruity flavour, more sweetness without going over the top, and a decent, bitter finish. Good.

Magpie. Cask. Hazy gold beer with a small white head. Light palate, semi dry and a little crispy. Reasonable malt backbone with light sweetness. Reasonable hops on top, mildly citric marmalade and grapefruit, some pith. Finishes semi dry. Solid and drinkable.

Golden amber, dense white head, clear, some lacing
Aroma of soft citrus zest, soft fruits
Taste of soft bitter fruity zest, some sweet fruits in background, touch of cereal, quite a lot of flavour for the abv
Palate - Fairly light body, but good for abv, quite oily, slight sherberty mouthfeel, bitter zesty palate, bit mouth puckering. Finish a bit dry, fairly bitter zest linger.
Overall - Quite a decent, refreshing beer

500ml bottle: BBD 11 July 2014, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 27 Aug 2013. I found this to be one dimensional and fairly boring. Poured a golden colour, as the name suggests: clear and bright enough, with a thin white head that soon turned into a wisp and collar. Mild malty and spicy nose: not much of anything really. Light weight in taste as well, some malt and hop notes but again not a lot of either. This isn’t unpleasant, just a bit bland and so-so in every department. A shame because I like all the rest of the Bath Ales I’ve come across. One to miss I’m sorry to say.

Fuzzy yellow-orange beer, not all that much to it. Bitter-sour taste, a bit of honey follows on with a bitter finish.

A nice colour, dark copper, a head is blond and weak. The nose is strongly nutty, toffee adn red berries, hint of citrus. Taste of toffeeish malts, some nuts, hint of berries, mild wooden bitterness in the end. Low carbonation, medium bodied, smooth to drink. Toffeeish and nutty beer, a positively fresh.
