Cask at Beer Rebellion, GH. It pours clear mahogany brown with a small white head. The nose is bitter - sweet, caramel, light spice, wood and some peach. The taste is bitter, toasty, earth, leather, spice, caramel and light charred notes with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fairly straightforward. Drinkable bitter.

Keg at Westow House. It pours hazy deep gold with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, mango, passion fruit, tangerine and marmalade. The taste is bitter, kumquat, tangerine, lychee, minerals, waxy citrus peel and peppery spice with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty juicy stuff. The aroma is particularly enjoyable. Good.

Cask (Butchers Hook, Southampton) - Golden in colour. Tropical fruit and citrus feature prominently in both the aroma and the crisp, hoppy and moderately bitter taste. Refreshing and enjoyable.

330ml bottle. Dark chestnut colour with ruby red glimmer and average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, Brazil nut, some malt spiciness, slightly dusty yeasty overtones, a touch of cold ashes (paper). Taste is dry, dark malty, slightly roasty, hints of roasted barley, Brazil nut, a touch of cocoa; minimally tart hints of red berries.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Citrusy, hoppy aroma, biscuity, pale malty basis, notes of lemon, lemon tea, a minimally grassy touch. Taste is citrusy hoppy, minimally strawy and grassy, a touch of lemon yoghurt. Another unpretentious, straightforward, refreshing Ale from Gipsy Hill.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, mandarine, blood orange. Taste is crisp bitter and citrusy hoppy, slightly grassy, notes of lemon and blood orange, very cautious nuttily malty basis; slightly mineral finish. Fresh and refreshing, unpretentious; more (Red) IPA than Amber Ale.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Bitter, herbal and citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of juniper berry and grapefruit, a touch of lemon, some orange zest. Taste is mildly bitter, herbal and citrusy hoppy, notes of juniper, lemon, some grapefruit, a cautious strawy touch. A bit rough.
