Cask at Queen Inn, Winchester. Aroma is roasty, with liquorice and espresso. Dark and glossy. Foamy tan head. Medium bitter. A roadty edge- liquorice and espresso as per aroma but that's over a big creamy chocolatey and malty core. Medium bodied. Creamy. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Lovely jubbly. Rich creamy yet bitter stuff.

Bottle bought at Andover Tap, Andover. Musty apple peel aroma, with a touch of vinegar, followed by underlying sweetness. Hazy medium cold. Thin bubbly translucent white head soon fades away. Initial sweet apple juice. Sour edge that gains some prominence but it's never particularly strong. Light bodied. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. Light enjoyable cider.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour, with a fizzy short-lived tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, molasses, caramel toffee, light smoky, coffee, dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, oily, roasty, red berry fruit, boozy, coffee chocolate palate. Full bodied with average carbonation. I wasn’t keen on the initial carbonation but that didn’t last. Rich, fruity and really nicely balanced.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Rich chocolate aroma. Dark and glossy. A cola tint. Frothy beige head. Sweet vanilla. Then develops a coffee bitterness with sour blueberry edge. But the creamy vanilla remains throughout. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Slightly astringent finish. Nice stuff.
