Cask at the 26th Egham beer festival, Egham, Surrey. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Orange, spice on the nose. Tastes yeasty, orange, spice.

Tap at the Craft Beer Co, St Mary Axe, London. Pours almost black with a small tan colour head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt, dark fruit and molasses. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to above average carbonation. Finish is slightly dry. Decent beer if served slightly over carbonated.

Keg at the mad Squirrel, Berkhampstead. A dark brown ruby red coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is nice sweet, vanilla, choc, hazelnut, little boozy,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, brown malts, vanilla, chocolate, powder,. Palate is milky, semi sweet moderate carbonation, powdery. Good.

Cask at Egham Beer Fest, 13/04/17. Pungent aroma of tile grout and spiced citrus. Cloudy toffee brown. Decent creamy off-white head. Light sour. The Orange is evident, as are the cloves. Perhaps a tad medicinal. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long spiced finish. Good stuff.

Keg at Eebria, 11/03/17. Hazed orange amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is orange rinds, grains, very light smoke, spice trace. Taste comprises peppery spices, toffee, dark fruit rinds, orange, faint bonfire, light yeast tickle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok ... not much smoke on this for me.

Taste comprises dark fruits, pinch of black peppery spice, dark chocolate, roast malts, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a light suggestion of hops. Decent porter.

Taste comprises caramel, bitter orange, straw, grains, light spice, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a dose of hop bitterness. Ok IPA ... serviceable but lower down the pecking order in terms of the drinkers choice in this style.
