Description
Adam and Dani Davies make Cider, Perry and a bit of apple juice in a small shed nestled in the side of the Teme Valley a mile upstream from Knighton, Powys. The fruit is all hand harvested, from orchards around the Wye Valley, their current main source is between Hay on Wye and Bredwardine, Herefordshire. Trees are around 60-80 years old and is blessed with a good variety of apples The orchard is in good condition having spent the last 20 years managed organically for Dunkertons. They have their own orchard, which is very young, so until 2019 the apples just got put into blends - this year they managed to bottle a very small amount of single orchard cider which at some point will get a very limited release.

Bag in a box from Middle Farm Cider Barn, near Lewes. A still, clear, golden cider. Fresh juicy apples, farmyard funk, old wooden wardrobes, apple skins, a touch of earth, lightly dry and with a hint of tart acidity. Very complex, very well balanced, and with a long-lasting aftertaste which was so nice that I didn't want to eat anything for a while afterwards for fear of losing that taste! An excellent cider, one of the best I've had.

Box @ Shrewsbury Real Ale Festival 2019, Day 2. Pours a misty deep golden amber. Rich apple fruit on the nose. Taste is similarly rich, pure golden apple fruit, gentle underlying tannin, moderate acidity, drinks quite well for the strength.

75cl bottle, thanks to Danlo for this bottle. Pours a misty pale greenish yellow. Aroma is very light perry pear fruit, some wild notes. Taste is medium perry fruit, a touch drying, no astringency, subtle tannin, overall a clean well-rounded perry pear fruit character with a gentle sparkle.
