Brewing and malting continued under the aegis of the Price family and later the Ayliffe family until the collapse of the woollen mill trade at the end of the 19th century.
The brew house and cellars went on to have many uses, mostly agricultural but it was also used as kennels until Chas Wright, a local beer wholesaler, was given the opportunity to re-open the brewery in 1984. After a winter of building and re-fitting, with stainless steel vessels designed by him, made locally and still used today, Uley Brewery was ready to open in 1985. The first Uley pint was poured on the 1st March 1985 in the Red Lion, Arlingham, which still serves Uley beer today.
At the end of 2018 Chas handed over the reigns to Martin Brooks, who continues to develop the brewery in line with it's traditional heritage.

On tap, cask handpump at The Black Bear, Tewkesbury Tuesday 21st October 2025 in the company of Mum and Keith. Pours mid amber with a little haze and creamy textured white head. Simple but well executed bitter, solid, pleasant bite, a little rustic and earthy, hoppiness appears to be traditional english, light fruitiness. Good.

Cask at the Sandford Park Alehouse, Cheltenham, 02/08/24. Clear golden to light copper with an off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is biscuit, caramel, straw, hedgerow. Taste comprises fruit slice, herb, caramel, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent bitter. A golden bitter ... NOT a golden / blonde. Try to use your palate sometimes instead of jumping straight to descriptive notes.

7th November 2023, two half-pints, hand-pulled in the lovely Blood Bay, Ludlow (it's a mock Victorian Ale House). Nice clean copper body, off-white crown that hung around on both halves. Malty with an orchard fruitiness and lingering hop bitterness, liked it!

Two halves, hand-pulled in the lovely Blood Bay, Ludlow on 7th November 2023. Nice looking beer, clean golden colour with a snow white head on both pours. Not as full as the Taverner and weaker in ABV, but it still had a healthy malt and hop content with a light fruity flavour behind the malty base.
