Love the #babycan , beer is excellent too. Piney, floral, bit malty, but compliments well. Taste reminds me of a rainy autumn day in the woods. Half a shot, half a beer. Thanks Roo!

Perfectly clear deep amber and copper coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall tan and off-white head. Aroma of rich malt, grain, flowers, earth and a good dose of light caster sugar and some very subdued caramelised sugar sweetness in the nose as well. Medium-bodied; Strong rich matly flavours show through with a very nice bitterness, some softer yeast and a good deal of floral bitterness coming through at first with a lot of sweetness, mainly in the form of pitted fruits, caramelised sugar notes and some good crisp caster sugar at the very end. Aftertaste shows some of the deep floral and super grainy elements with more malt than anything else by far, with some peated malts and even some light specialty grain flavours coming through along with a touch of bitterness from some spices as well as a softer sweetness at the tail end from those caramelised sugars. Overall, a nice and very flavourful marzen with a lot of grainy notes, especially those of the malted barley, but some light sugars do shine through at the end with caramelised sugars, light fruits and a touch of flowers. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from The Original Whole Foods in Austin, Texas [Lamar, downtown] on 15-October-2019 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here back in Washington, a bit shorter than a year later on 13-September-2020.
