Keg draught at Chester Station Tap. Light gold, lots of visible carbonation with a foamy and quickly dissipating white head leaving loads of lacing. Metallic, grainy aroma, little hint of lemon. Smells fine if not amazing. Refreshing sweet taste but it is much more like an isotonic drink as opposed to a beer. Old-style low alcohol which is a shame. Light body and not as carbonated as it visually appears. This is maybe a little bit of a generous rate but it is a good enough option when you don't want (much) alcohol.

180ml bottle as part of a delivery from the Japan Centre, London, and drunk at home. Boozy aroma, sharp wet grass and melon, lighter mint and white pepper. Rice is forefront in the taste, a good bit of spicy alcohol astringency. Some bitter herbs right at the finish. Fairly decent sake.

200ml cup as part of a delivery from the Japan Centre in London and drunk at home. Clear and flat. Acidic, medicinal and fairly boozy aroma. Little bit of berry, savoury herb and aniseed. Taste is indeed quite bitter with not a lot of personality. Dry finish as well. It's okay, not really my sort of sake but it'll do.

300ml bottle as part of a delivery from Japan Centre, London and drunk at home. Slightly yellowish-white and clear. Bright alcohol, fresh mint on the aroma. Balanced taste with a bit of astringency, and a dry finish. Not particularly complex but a nice clean sake.

180ml bottle as part of a delivery from Japan Centre and drunk at home. Pretty clear - maybe a touch of yellowishness. Watery rice in the aroma, light orchard fruit. Sweet taste with alcohol to the fore, a bit of watermelon. Short finish., a little rough. Body is light. Some balance issues, but this is a decent sake.

At Wudon Noodle Bar in Glasgow. Served hot. Clear. Smell is milky and almost possety. Tastes strong and lightly bittersweet with a backdrop of gardenia. Not bad but certainly not eye popping. Not that I'm an expert but tastes a bit on the artificial side.

The scent is medicinal with light fruited character, malted grains.Taste is a bit harsh and boozy at first but when it warms up slightly it gets a bit of white grape, berry, liquorice.al Astringent bitterness on the long finish. Watery body. Not the best sake you're likely to have but certainly enjoyable.
