Deadication beer to Dutchman Jacques Clemens, once the oldest living Priest in the world until his death in 2018, he was born on this day. There's a near lemons in his surname, but certainly lemons in this radler, its aroma and taste are strong in an easy but not thin brew. Note the spelling mistake in the official website artwork image.

Golden State from Polly's Brew Co.

On the day I'm drinking this beer back in 1922 the Hollywood Bowl opened in the Golden State, with future performances from The Beatles, The Doors & The Who all taking place. This Golden State beer is suitably tropical fruity for the location it's named after, on the sweeter side with a low citric influence. Plenty of body.

There's been nothing but blue, yonder and beyond in the skies today, and I gather for the next couple. As a hot day pale ale this tropical fruit effort in both aroma and taste is very apt, welcoming, flavoursome and quite sweet in design as there's only a low citric bitterness to finish.

After trying 60 or so new French brews last month I've raided the cellar again for something similar to keep the style memories flowing, and as I'm not the only person rating this in the last hour I already know it's a good one! Spices prominent, fruit, herbs, excellent body. Pale malts. Bitter-sweet.
