pours hazy yellow with a giant white head.
beautiful full bodied west coast hoppy aroma with lots of oily grapefruits and pine. so hoppy it's almost grassy and herbal.
flavor is slightly herbal, exotic fruity, slightly green grassy. medium bodied malty base. aroma was better than flavor. good ipa overall, but it has this sort of herbal hay grassy note that i don't fancy. also some lingering exotic fruits that combined with the grassyherbal thing makes it on the way to bittersweet. Fantastic aroma. so-so flavor.

mild, roasted malty, slightly fruity (raspberries) aroma, dark chocolate. a bit like a high end piece of dark chocolate dessert with raspberries.
very dark brown with a dark smooth small head.
smooth and well blended flavor with notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee like notes, faint peppery feel to it, raspberries are hidden but can be tasted.

dark caramelly dark chocolatey aromas dominate, caramelized stuff, chocolate cake, roasted malts can be sensed indirectly. beans like note. quite well blended together, hard to find the individual components of the aroma.from aroma i'd judge palate to velvety and body to very full.
pours dark brown, settles near black with a very smooth and very nice drk brown head.
palate is quite thick and smooth. thicker than normal.
flavor is absolutely outstanding. licorice, bourbon, salt licorice, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, faint sweet caramel, well blended, comes off as soft and mild even though it's 13.7%. very sweet but it works fine with this sweetness because everything is already amped up, and it is so complex. the caramelly notes reminds me of toblerone.
could be the best BBA imp stout i ever tasted.

bottle, 2022 tasted 2025-09-29
wow. coffee in fact dominates the aroma, followed by bourbon and roasted malts, coconut peppery note that blends with the alcohol. faint 99% dark chocolate,
flavor is coffee , roasted malts, bourbon (faint) coconut, faint tartness from the coffee, faint licorice, very faint cake frosting (sort of aromatic vanilla ish)
quite interesting and not like the other bourbon county stouts i've tasted recently. more dry and less woody, certainly less bourbony. they managed to balance the beer even though the coffee is insane in this one. tastes good. perhaps a tiny bit watery for a strong imp stout. Very tasty indeed anyways.

Thanks søren for bringing this back to me from vacation.
clear yellow, white head.
flowery aroma, sweet lager aroma, quite malty. south-eruopean style.
flavor has an alc bitterness that is a bit in the way, the hops are faint but tastable and they are not that good, metallic. the entire beer comes off as macro sweet bitter. If compared to a macro supermarket beer, it's midrange though. could work with flavorful food if you're okay with the sweetness.

Strong lime aroma, herbal hops, pine. very nice slightly grassy and herbal aroma.
flavor is sweet malty, sweet grapefruit, very slightly grassy, not very bitter, but a decent power to the hops anyway. more herbal and grassy hoppy, than citrus juicy hoppy.

Totally black, dark brown small head that fizzles away.
aroma of dried dark fruits or sour imperial stout, a little bit like a sligthly tart quad. flavor is roasted malts, very faint hint of dried dark fruits like raisins, boozy sting, cognac, wood, dark chocolate. The end has a little charred wood. Palate is fantastic, a bit thick, faint coconut like note.
very unusual imp stout with the dried dark fruitiness, but it works surprisingly well - and the beer is extremely complex without me getting the feeling they added all sorts of stuff (which they probably have not done)

pours dark brown with a fine drak brown smooth small lasting head.
surprisingly mild aroma, only hints of booze and hints of roasted malts. strongest notes are the kind of notes you get when barrelling too long, sort of glue like.
flavor is dry hard roasted malts, charred wood (but not smoked malts) nice faint touch from the brandy. flavor is a bit delicate and subdued but truly very very nice roasted malty with the other flavors just enhancing the experience. the wood is easy to detect with the charred woody note being the strongest tell. end is roasted malty and charred woody. Very good flavor. Totally unlike the very boring aroma.
