Bottle picked up in Brussels and enjoyed back in Oldmeldrum, Scotlandshire. It pours clear golden - amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is musty, zingy, tangy, lemon - lime, white grape skin, Riesling, apple pie, gooseberry, funk, hay, barnyard, dry oak and leathery accents. The taste is firmly dry, muted bitterness, dry, puckering, zingy, sherbet, tangfastics, nip of acidity, lemony, lemon peel, citron, grapefruit must, touch lactic, sour green chewits, crunchy green grapes, slight minerality, deep funk, leathery, barnyard, woody and dry white wine with a dry, woody finale. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Nice depth of flavour. Really like the balance to this one. Another quality Lindemans offering.

500ml bottle from Aldi Inverurie. It pours darkest brown to black with a small, but lasting dark tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, bitter - sweet, cookie dough, burnt treacle, cacao nibs, toasty brown sugars and a splash of cola. The taste is dark roasted malt, nip of spicy alcohol, slightly charred, burnt toast, slightly phenolic, umami, liquorice, toothy, cooking chocolate, earthy and toasty with a toasty finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent enough double stout. Good bang for your buck.

Can from Aldi Inverurie. It pours fairly clear yellowy - gold with a white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, tangy grapefruit vibes, touch of lemon curd, marmalade sandwich, touch green, piney and sone toasty grains. The taste is crisp, quite firm, dry, reasonable level of bitterness, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, weak lemon, pomelo, grass, pine, slightly herbal and some candied fruits. Finish is firmly dry and bitter. Average body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough, but not quite up there with some of their other new releases at Aldi. Drinkable and great value nonetheless.

Cam from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours clear darkest brown with a decent khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, bitter -sweet, toasty, chocolate, nutty, pistachio, toffee crisp and a touch of coffee bean. The taste is smooth roast upfront, bitter - sweet, slick, dark roasted malt, toasty, slightly charred, cacao nibs / chocolate, toasted nut, pistachio, earthy and wood with a roasty finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. I had feared this may be too sweet, but it really isn't. Works surprisingly well.
