Cask at the Wild Swan. It pours clear pale blond with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is freshly baked bread, biscuit, toasty grains, quite soft and orchard fruits The taste is crisp, dryish, smooth, fragrant, floral, toasty grains, grassy, snappy biscuit and a touch of soapiness. Light body and well appointed cask cask carbonation. A decent beer in great condition. Perhaps a touch forgettable though

Can from Cornelius Wines. It pours hazy deep reddish - brown with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is rich malty vibes, brown bread, malt loaf, dried fruits, raisin loaf, toffee, toasty grain and wood. The taste is drying, toothy, toasted brown bread, bitter - sweet, earthy, wood, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, toffee, dull coffee and a nip of booze with a drying, woody finish. Medium body and moderate+ carbonation. Decent malt driven ale.

Bottle from the Oban Beer Seller. It pours clear golden eyty a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, crunchy red grape, vinous, zingy, sherbet, funky, juicy, gooseberry, redcurrant, cranberry and damp hay. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, puckering, zingy, sour, vinous, natural wine character, red wine, cranberry, redcurrant, gooseberry, mild acidity, sherbet and sour candy with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty delicious stuff. Bright, zingy and vinous.

Small cam from Good Spirits Co. It pours clear rich orangey - brown with a thick, fluffy off - white head. The aroma is rich and intoxicating, dried fruits, candied orange peel, marzipan, raisin, booze soaked fruits, sultana, Xmas cake, custard and marzipan. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, dried raisin, sultana, toasted fruit cake, chewy, toothy, custard, marzipan, ambergris, candied orange, toffee, toasty malt, brown bread, woody and some warming booze with a drying finish. Fulsome body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Rich and flavourful. Well balanced and moreish.

5.6% bag in box direct from the brewery. It pours clear pale gold with a bubbly white head. The aroma is musty, farmyard, apple skin, bitter - sweet, ripe crunch apple, apple wine, apple pie, touch of spice and leather. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, crunchy apple, touch of pucker, apple pie, sherbet, apple wine, light tannin, oak, gooseberry and apple skin with light tannins through the drying finish. Medium bodied with no carbonation.. Sweet for Ross on Wye but this would be a dry for many a cidery! Very nice.

Bottle at Kernel Spa Rad. It opens with a gush....pours clear golden - yellow with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, tangy, coconut, pineapple, mango, citrus, perfumed, muted funk and dry oak. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, dry oak, green, weedy, sherbet, gooseberry, green white, musty, funky, mellow barnyard, lemon - lime, pucker and old musty basement with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Very nice quaff.

Keg at Kernel Spa Road. It pours clear pale yellow - gold with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, zingy, lemon - lime, white grape, gooseberry, rice cracker and sherbet. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, crispy, fragrant, floral, grassy, leafy, soapy, juniper, rice cracker and toasty grains with a bone dry finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp and quaffable. Interesting and unique lager.

The aroma is freshly baked bread, baked goods, bitter - sweet, fragrant, floral, crunchy digestive biscuit, oatcake and wood. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, crisp biscuity malt, toasty grains, varnished wood, leather, light tannin, earthy, pithy, zesty, twist of citrus, rather floral, grassy and summer meadow with a drying, floral finale. Medium body and fairly high (for Thornbridge) foamy carbonation. A very interesting offering. Rich, crisp, biscuity and floral. Nice depth of flavour. Would love to give this a go on cask

Keg at The Wild Swan, London. It pours clear golden with a dense white head. The aroma is zingy, tangy, bitter - sweet, lemon sherbet, sweaty, pissy hops, grapefruit, pomelo and lemon cheesecake. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, pleasing bitterness, pine needles, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, bitter peel, lemonade, slightly soapy, nip of alcohol and a clean malt base with a drying, zesty finish. Average body and moderate+ foamy carbonation. Decent west coaster.
