Bottle direct from Futtle..it pours deep hazy oily golden with a bubbly white head which lasts to the last sip. The aroma is ripe, tangy, musty, fermenting plums, prune, sherbet, jammy, fig roll, vinous, red wine and Victorian sponge cake. The taste is initially it is smooth and fruity, juicy, spritzy, puckering, sherbet, tangfastics, bright plum character, slightly lactic, damp oak, muted acidic, dull funk, jammy fruits, tangy berry, fig, touch of redcurrant and some floral accents with a dry, puckering fruit finish. Light to average body and soft, massaging carbonation. Lovely balance to it. Quite vibrant and classy. Quaffable.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours jet black with a dark tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, burnt toffee, bitter - sweet, actually some umami, burnt toast, coffee, rich chocolate, tia maria, chocolate shortbread, fudge and salted caramel. The taste is smooth, fairly sweet and full in the mouth, rich chocolate action, gateaux, salted caramel, biscuit, shortbread , definite millionaire's shortbread , chewy, burnt toast, dark roasted malt, slick, oily, slightly charred and quite well hidden alcohol with a drying, toasty finish. Fulsome body and average carbonation. Not nearly as sweet as I had feared. Works well as a dessert beer.

20 litre bag in box direct from Ross on Wye and served in Oldmeldrum. It pours clear deep golden with a bubbly head which dissipates. The aroma is quite fresh and bright, zippy and zingy, crunchy apple, apple skin, sherbet, dried apple, oak, must, white grape, hay and mellow barnyard. The taste is firm and dry, but softens and smooths out, dry oak, light tannin, juicy, crunchy apple, apple skin, dried leaves, light leather, must, touch nutty, light pucker, hint of acidity and very restrained alcohol presence (especially given the abv). Finish dries out. Medium body and smooth mouth feel. Classy and very well balanced. Moreish.

Keg at Foghouse, Inverue. It pours clear golden - amber with a medium fluffy white. The aroma is sweet, fragrant, spicy, Christmas spice, cinnamon, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasty grains and biscuit. The taste is crispy, dry, dull bitterness, quite snappy, touch of fragrant, spicy, clove, cinnamon and festive fun time. Spicy finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A novelty, perhaps more drinkable than I expected.
