This saison poured a clear, light yellow colour with a creamy bright white head. Nice lacing. Scents include pineapples, coriander, perm solution and dough. First swig was very flavourful. Tastes of yeast, light citrus hops and spice. Finish is medium bitter with yeast and bubblegum flavours lingering.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 27 July 2017) Pale golden colour, hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, grass and a mild brett aroma. Malty, fruity taste with bread, grass, hay, citrus, gentle spicy yeast and a mild citric bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of rustic malt with peppery yeast notes is quite nice. Taste is also a mix of peppery yeast notes with some rustic malt and light residuals sugar notes. Body is full enough for the style with good carbonation. Well brewed for the style with good drinkability level.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear pale gold under a quick fading fluffy white cap. Nose of light caramel malts with lighter yeast, coriander, citrus and floral hops. Flavour follows the nose and is quite balanced but not particularly interesting. Mouth is thin with active carbonation and a slightly dry finish (but not what i expect from a saison). Just OK. 7/3/6-/3-/12

Pours a hazy golden colour with an orange hue. The head is white, creamy, everlasting. Aromas of Belgian Ale yeast, cloves, wheat giving banana notes and light citrus-grassy hops. The taste is a little tarty with hints of oranges and mild cereal grains that lingers. Some mild grass bitterness does come out with time, but it seems the yeast tarts up things a little too much. A nice brew, but a little too much wheat for the style, and not enough citrusy hops. Beautiful looking though.

A stop by this little brewery in St Jacob’s on a trip to the theatre (pronounced all fancy, like theee-itar.) Odd little adobe style building, but as long as they can brew. Haven’t seen this guy down in Toronto, though I’m told it can make appearances at Volo or C’est What if the brewer drops one off. And I wish we cold get it, it’s a good beer. Pours a cloudy blonde, with a finger of white head. Nice nose of grass, hay, Belgium yeastiness. The taste too has that lovely yeasty flavour, some sour notes, with wheaty malts and a lovely overall grassiness. Mildly bitterness after. Really representation of a farmhouse ale. Bring more down to Toronto!
