Bottle at Brugs Beertje. Brown sugar, sweet, starts with light hoppiness. Bit of Stille Nacht booze and fruit. Really nice. Sweetness and malt dominate. Really easy drinking for 10%

Bottle purchased at Brugs Beertje. Pours clear blonde, with a regular sized , stable white head. Smell is bitter, overripe fruity aspect from the yeast ( banana-type ) . Taste is bitter, with a full-body sweetness underneath ( malts ) . The aftertaste is ... Different. Not only is it boozy ( without being extremely boozy ) it actually TASTES like vodka.... I did not see this coming but DAMN it can not be missed. is this only 10 % ? The aftertaste is so clinical ( afgain, Vodka, 100 % resemblence ) it makes me think something went wrong here.... Really? De dolle released such a failed batch ???? This is a very damn unique beer, and don’t get me wrong, a good vodka can be quite nice to me, but it has NO place in a beer... this just feels... Wrong... Its hard to put a number on this, since like I said before, I actually do like the taste of vodka, but on the other hand it just tastes so off.... therefor my medium beerscore...

33cl bottle at ?t Brugs Beertje, Brugge. Pours somewhat hazy deep golden with some sediments floating around and a fairly decent, white head. Fruity and somewhat spicy aroma with the usual Belgian yeast, some slightly earthy notes and hints of caramel. Medium sweet and fairly flavourful with a certain dryness and a moderate bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is well integrated. Decent stuff! --- Beer merged from original tick of Special Brew (Brugs Beertje 30) on 02 May 2015 at 19:42 - Score: 7

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Big thanks got Fin for this rarity! Pours lightly hazy gold with a creamy white head. The nose has lots of Belgian yeast, some pale dough. Medium to big sweet flavor with heavy doughy bread, wheat, lemon rind, yeast. Full bodied with average carbonation. Sugary pale bread in the finish, further Belgian yeast character, phenols. A fairly straightforward strong Belgian golden ale.

Thanks to ElManana + Sanne. 330 ml. bottle @ ’t Brugs Beertje. Bottle says “Special Brew” but does also stipulate that this was made for ‘t Brugs Beertje for their anniversary. Dark orange, creamy white head. Nose is oxidation, sweet sugar, lots of sugar, light mold, bitter herbal & touch bitter malt, candy sugar, bitter malts,… Taste is bit on yeast, candy sugar, moldy, bitter hay, bitter dried fruit peels, bitter hay, lightly floral,… Big malty body, dries out your mouth with some mold. This tastes like a lesser batch of Stille Nacht that is a couple of years old.

7/II/15 - 33cl bottle @ Brugs Beertje - BB: n/a (2015-162) Thanks to the Belgian RB crew for sharing today's beers!
Little cloudy deep orange beer, some specks floating around under a small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit oxidized, almonds, very aged, some orange peel, sherry, smells like it's 5 years old. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty oxidized, honey, bit sweet, bitter touch, metallic, sherry notes. Aftertaste: some citrus, orange peel, sweet, marzipan, oxidized, soft bitterness. Well, I've had enough old beers, to say with absolute certainty that this beer was bottled at least 3 years ago and probably more like 5 to 6. The mildew on the label doesn't seem to disagree with me.

Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention thanks to Fin. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, banana bread, doughy, bruised fruits and caramelized sugar. The taste is bitter, rich, boozy, doughy, sugar, hay, drying wood, spice, over-ripe banana, earth and warming alcohol on the finish. Full body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Solid big punchy Belgian Strong.

24th Jan 2015: shared bottle, (badged as De Dolle Brouwers Special Brew) at the Cotteridge Wine meet, cheers Fin for this. Misty old gold pour with a white top. The nose had a fruity aroma with citrus, spice and yeast notes. The flavour is sweet, yet peppery and yeasty, the fruitiness is also still around from the smell. Good alcohol feel to the brew.
