Fruity fresh nose. The beer starts fresh. Hints of malt, slightly sweetish but not too deep. Dry with a dry dark sugary body. Easy to drink, fresh, smooth with no bitterness. Round and fresh, nice.

Fourth and last beer of my mini-Belgian tasting afternoon at home on 5th Aug 2015. 33cl bottle: BBD 07 2016, poured into a Forbidden Fruit chalice, slowly. Some sediment did leave the bottle so the deep reddy brown body had a slight haze to its shine. The head was a solid tanned affair, level and rich looking. The nose is malty molasses over a bed of liquorice roots with a hand full of mixed spices thrown on, maybe even some rhubarb like smells too. The taste is also a mixed bag of flavours: semi-sweet from the malts but also fruity and spicy from the hop content (or whatever has been added to the grist). Mild sour bitterness begins to surface as the beer warms a little, but overall this is a fairly sweet malt based beer with a few side alleys trying to take that thought away.
