For those that don’t know the beer, it is our Barley Wine which we then aged in an array of Scotch Whisky barrels for over 6 months. The beer has fantastic depth and complexity from both the base beer and the whisky barrels. It is a warming, sipping beer for the end of an evening. The lyrics on the can are from a traditional song “Benny Havens, Oh”, sung by many a West Point Cadet over the years.

Delt med Rune. Dyp mørkerødbrun. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Sherryaroma. Smaken plommer. Portvin.

Salty and rather unpleasant.

Shared 660 ml bottle, ABV is 10%. Orange to amber colour, moderate white head. Aroma of whisky with some peat smoke, notes of dusty and wet basement, not very pleasant. Sweet flavour, whisky with some salty and smoky notes, moderate bittering hops. Not really great, but could have been worse. .

Bodney Towers bottle share. Thanks to Leighton. Light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Rich malts, light caramel and toffee which are not that sweet. Tangy fruits. Decent whiskey and mild whiskey soaked fruits. A touch of bitter wood. Light finish. Bitter woody linger. Nice stuff.

Bottle at LKS - big thanks to the host. It pours clear rich amber with a medium white head. The aroma is rich, woody, earthy, brown bread, fruit cake, touch of spice and slick toffee. The taste is dry, woody, bitter- sweet, brown bread, dried fruits, fruit cake, caramel, leather, toasted nut, bit of spice and a touch of alcohol warmth through the finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. A bit more well - rounded than the standard version in my opinion. Decent gear.
