Stouts III Tasting. Cloudy gold beer, big white head. Palate is light and dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Pretty nice generic fruits are soon overpowered by white smoke. Citric peel hop bitterness before the dry finish. Typically Fantome left field.

75cl bottle courtesy of 77ships @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting.

22/IV/13 - 75cl swing top bottle @ Rampkrot (Deurne) - BB: V/2016 (2013-359) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Very cloudy murky beige beer, big aery irregular head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: hay, stable, grains, bit lemony, floral, little fruity with hints of peaches and apple skin. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: very yeasty, smoke, funky, it's a typical Fantôme all right! ;-) A bit fruity, bitter, grassy hops. Aftertaste: floral, bitter, chemical, very funky yeasty ending. Sorry Dany, this is not my cup of tea. :(

75 cl. swing-top bottle sampled – procured from Willems. Very hazy golden, fading creamy white head to the sides. Huge citrus in the nose, lots of it, very fruity yeast, white bread, sweet, sweet floral, cleaning products,… Sweet thick yeast, light plaster, some near fake lemon, flowers, thick white bread, very sweet grains, white sugar, very light bitter spices,… Very thick yeast, odd as usual Fantome brew imitating a very sweet Strong Belgian Ale, yet expensive! Oh you naughty ghost.

Bottle courtesy of 77ships, thanks! Murky yellow color, small but thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of dusty lemons and attic-stored grapefruits. Taste is bitter lemon and dilute straw.

Bottle at Stout 3 & Freestyle Tasting, thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy golden yellow with a thick white head. The nose is earth, hay, pear, apple, melon, nectarine, apricot and light tartness. The taste is hay, sherbet, apple, pear, melon, straw and some mouldy wood with a dry finish. Medium-full body and high carbonation. So-so.

Bottle at the Stouts Pt. III & Others - London. Thanks to Kenny. Pours hazy yellow with a fine, white froth head. Nose of smokey wheat, lemon and dough. It has that golden ale smokiness defect. It’s weird. Smokey pale malts, bitter hay, grass. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Some soap. Warm finish, more off smoke, pale malts, light wheat, straw and hay, bitter grass. Certainly a bit off. Odd. So so. Fantome!
