Beneath the bright lights and wealth of the Metropolis dwells a very different world. This dark beer takes everything pure in Metropolis and corrupts it. A giant malt bill renders a thick and viscous fluid into which hops by the bargeful were laid to rest. The result is a colossal experience where an impressive mouthfeel meets bittered chocolate and a raging tropical hop explosion. The Necropolis demands your respect.

23/X/17 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: VIII/17 (2017-1821) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Pretty clear brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, some dried fruits, some candy, chocolate touch. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malts up front, pretty roasted, soft bitterness, some caramel. Aftertaste: bitter hops, sweet malts, coffee, more roasted notes, chocolate, hint of citrus. Decent porter, but not really a black ipa. Probably because we drank it past it's date though...

On tap at Craft Covent Garden. Black beer lasting tan head. Hoppy aroma lime. Roast dark malt. Some bitterness. Some chocolate lime flavour i mean it is a black ipa. So a little empty on the malt and some chocolate lime flavour can’t wait for this style to disappear its neither full enough for a stout nor citrus fruity enough for an ipa. The beer is fine the style is not something i enjoy.

Light sweet flavour with some dry chocolate, torched earth, minerals, orange peel. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with some zesty citrus, more well toasted bread, a little cocoa, earth, minerals. Not bad.
