Can from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Dark copper-brown with a very thin head. There's a few dark malts here, but not a lot, it is its gentle sweetness which is its overriding feature. There's nothing too 'lager' at all here. Has a hint of toasted about it.

Can picked up from Waitrose, online, consumed Saturday 22nd December 2018 whilst cooking Chicken braised with red wine, garlic and fresh figs, now listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6 Music. This pours dark brown with an off white head. Soft mouthfeel, I get the roastiness and toastiness, light and easy drinking and dark fruits. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

500mml. bottle as part of a trade with Koelschtrinker. Tasted on the 05/12/2018 at home. In short: Dirty cola. Roasted bread, raisins and some caramel. Next one please!

Pours dark brown, unclear, but far from black. Medium, creamy, very stable white head. Smell is weird , DMS, but different than what you’re used to in the DMS scent. more… ‘plastic’ in a way. usually, I use ‘plastic’ to name what others call ‘bandaid’ , being overly phenolic. Such is not the case here. papaya-like fruityness that I don’t like, and have no clue about how it got here. Dirt ( like, actual muddy, ground-like scent ) Taste is also pretty weird. For some reason, this has a minthy aspect.. HOW ? WHY ? Underneath some fine roastyness, but also a mout-puckering sweetness that dries the mouth. I’d even say its like esters.. Is this fermentated to warm ? Was the scent I had phenolic after all ? There’s a whole lot of flavors I wouldn’t expect from the style, the country, or after reading the list of ingrediënts. And I would have strongly prefered not having them, tbh. Pretty bad beer to me, this one.

Can at home. The pour showed that this is not black, but very dark brown. Not much aroma and the taste was that of a lager with toasted dark malt. A good mouthfeel from the malt, but totally lacking in flavour. It was all very dull, which I find to be true for most of the And Union beers. Good concept, but a load of old rubbish.

Can from Waitrose, Caversham. Dark brown and very fizzy with a beige head. Rather metallic, dirty aroma. The taste is much better with malt, brown toast and a little hint of raisin sweetness. Grew on me after an unconvincing start.

33cl can from Waitrose, Bracknell. A dirty cola coloured pour with a ring of white head; aroma of sour grains; sweet grainy taste with an odd herbal bitterness; and a rather sugary finish. Not my kind of thing at all.

Can from Waitrose, West Byfleet. Sweet yeasty aroma. Dark cola brown. Hazy. Decent off-white head. Light bitter. Sweet throughout, which then comes to the forefront. Caramel. Light. Thin. Soft. Slightly astringent. OK. Not too sick. Drinkable.
