Deep super dark brown coloured body with a large, five centimetre tall light brown head that stays afloat for quite a long time. Aroma of roasted malt, tons of milk and lactic notes, some pit fruits, grapes, oak and a bunch more milky notes. Medium-bodied; Assertive raisin and grape sweetness with a hint of light spices, a touch of earthy and anise flavours and a good dose of alcohol and bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows a good roasted malt flavour with some dry oak and vanilla noticeable, but a good malt flavour cut with some strong sugars. Overall, a nice porter - nothing too special, but a solid beer and well worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$4.98 sampled at home in Washington on 03-September-2013.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a modest tan head. Good retention and decent lacing. Initially I found the nose to be a little like chalky PVC. Not good. As it warmed it improved... cocoa, roast, and light coffee. A little on the dry side and chalky comes to mind again. Good cocoa flavors and then BAM, the dry roast chalky taste roars back. Unpleasant plastic flavored burps. I’m done here. Please initiate time travel and stop me from drinking this. Future re-rate... maybe.

A dark brown ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, dark roasted chocolate malt with roasted coffee, floral hops, nice. In mouth, a smooth black ipa with light coffee notes, nice. Bottle at Mondiale 2013, May 31 2013.

Tap at Gigantic, PDX, 22/05/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin beige head. Nose is roast malt, biscuit, dark toffee. Taste carries a good roast malt bite, molasses, a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, bitter roast in the finish. Solid enough porter.

Paid$ 6.03 for a 22 oz. bottle from Winooski Beverage Warehouse. Problem with this brew is I forgot about it in my cellar and stumbled on it tonight. So I have to rate this on what it could be instead of what I’m tasting. It’s not Gigantic’s fault I forgot this in my cellar. Flavor is milk chocolate, hints of coffee and the palate is creamy with a full body for the style. I drank about 19 oz. from this bottle so even after consuming this old, it still works. It must be a decent brew.

Bomber. Pours black with red highlights when held up to the light. Has a medium beige head with decent retention; leaves a skiff of foam and some lace. Aroma is bready, chocolate milk, licorice, burnt caramel. Taste is bittersweet. Has a faint hoppy flavor to go along with the roastiness of the malt. Mouthfeel is creamy, body and carbonation medium. Well-made and tasty.

Enjoyed at the Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier, VT. Pours a brown colour with a beige head and red highlights. Chocolate nose with vanilla hints and well-blended roasted malts. Nice creamy starting mouthfeel. Porter dark fruits taste with some roasted malts. Mild dry finish with the hops. A nice treat, a little hoppier than most porter.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a large white head. A big sweet milky nose. The flavor is milky and dry cocoa forward, some light roast, more dark chocolates, very smooth. A nice creamy palate. Good.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with medium tan head of big bubbles. Aromas of burnt coffee and heavily roasted malts with some lactose notes in the background. Dry, though a little oily. Flavors of roasted malts, sweetened coffee, and cola. A nice porter.
