This beer, amber and bitter although light and fresh, is brewed on the basis of high quality raw materials. Very digestible, it gives off fruity aromas making it particularly tasty. A family recipe, it exists since 1993, at first brewed by l'Achouffe but nowadays it is brewed at the Brasserie des Trois Fourquets / Brasserie Lupulus.

33cl Bottle: BBD 11 Jan 14, poured into it’s own chalice at home on 16 Nov 13. Brought this home with me a couple of years ago along with two glasses from a mini European beery tour. No sediment left the bottle so I got a deep golden/amber body that was clear and clean, on top a deep white blanket of foam. Yeasty nose with spice and fruity esters, almost sweet, yet also semi-moldy in aroma. The taste was also a lovely mixture of flavours, sweet, yet alcoholic and yeasty. This is my sort of brew, full of character and different, an individual that demands attention and is worthy of pontification. Sure you can feel the alcohol, but that adds to this beers charm, it’s complicated and simple all at the same time, well worth finding.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured @ Willems. BBF 08/08/2014. Apparently brewed by Achouffe but I have never seen this one before which is interesting because with the Moortgat distribution these days the Chouffe beers have really wide distribution. Golden, big creamy white head. Nose is citrus, lots of hops actually, light banana, sweet yeast, light esters & lively hops. Taste is banana, very creamy feel, white bread sweet, esters, hefty dose of EU hops resulting into medicinal hop taste, bitter esters, light booze & white pepper, grass, quite a bit of citrus, grain, medicinal booze note is quite off-putting but overall nice. Creamy. Not bad at all.

33cl bottle, BB 30/06/2013, def not retired.

28/III/2012 - 33cl bottle from little supermarket (Vielsalm) @ home - BB: 31/VIII/13 (2012-297)
Clear golden beer, big creamy white head, stable, adhesive with nice lacing. Aroma: very malty sweet, some corn, grasssy hops, pretty spicy and herbal. MF: good carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: sweet maltiness first, with some citrus and other fruits, then it turns into a grassy herbal bitterness with citrus beneath. Aftertaste: nice grassy to peppery bitterness with a note of alcohol. Well done, I love this kind of Belgian beer. Also: retired? Don't think so!

0.33l bottle from EtreGourmet webshop. This is a lovely cloudy golden-orange beer, really packed with tons of sediments and floaters and a heavy everlasting just off-white fluffy head. This is how a beer is supposed to look like! Fruity zesty aroma with some nice yeasty tones and perhaps even some hints of yellow apple zest and oranges. Not extreme or mind blowing, just subtle, calm and quite enjoyable. The carbonation level is soft and you can sense that this beer has been brewed some time ago. It also has a mild oily mouthfeel. The taste is light malty and zesty with that Belgian yeast, light spicy and a slow oxidized twitch that makes it even more interesting. Ends mild fruity with more yeast and a nice hint of banana in the aftertaste. It can actually in many ways remind of a Belgian wit. A really nice one!
