Old rating from 09-08-15 - On cask at the Apple & Pears Tap House in Jersey. Pours a amber colour with a thin white head. Aromas of fruit. Tastes of rye, nuts, caramel & fruits. Feels a good balance between the NZ hops, malt & bitterness. One I'd have a second off.

Cask at the Red Lion, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light watery grass, citrus, woody hop litter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. An attractive golden amber colour with a tight cream head; malty aroma mingled with some tropical fruit; rich and creamy in the mouth with a fruity taste - sweet, almost syrupy; but followed by a pleasantly dry and spicy finish. A refined take on Kiwi hops - they are certainly there, but they are kept in their place, and are well under control.

10th July 2015: cask pint in The Figure of Eight, a Wetherspoons in Birmingham. Amber body, white head. Bland and boring: semi-sweet, semi-fruity, semi-nothingness, semi-citrus hints. Disappointing.

Cask at the Red Lion and Pineapple, JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. The aroma holds some toasted grains, crackery make, orange rind. Light sweet flavor with prominent grainy bread, some graham crackers, faint ginger, more citrus rind. Light in body with fine carbonation. OK balance on the finish, with further grainy malts, mild leafy bitterness, subtle toffee. An interesting bitter. Not bad overall.

Cask at the Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Deep gold with a big white head. Lots of lacing. Soft peach on the nose, with malty and medicinal notes. Astringent bitter taste with some fruity sweetness in the middle, before becoming astringent again. Light, refreshing palette. Pretty good.

Cask gravity at Reading Beer Festival 2015. Clear gold lasting near white head. Diacetyl aroma. Not much else to be honest. Some vague hop but mostly a buttery mess. Didn’t finish a third of a pint.

Cask stillage / gravity dispense, half, at The City Arms, Cardiff. Brewed with the new NZ hop variety Waimea. Golden colour, very small white head (to none). Moderate aroma, a hint of fruity hops. Well hopped flavour, a little sweetness but still more dry than sweet, some citrus and resin, fairly bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Cask @ Abel Heywood, Manchester. Golden with a small creamy head. Has a fairly thick but smooth tasting texture. There’s a few smooth malts in here too, but not many. Quite balanced in taste.
