Sample from 65 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a big, creamy tanned head. Roasted aroma with red berries, roasted malts, fruits, herbal hops. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture. Finishes dry and roasted. Very enjoyable Stout.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours an opaque black with a very lively and lacing beige head. Subtle, sweet vanillaish aroma. Medium body, very dry roast and a bitter - malt bitter finish. Appears bigger than it is. 081114

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is malty and maybe something like a roasted almond. Flavor is equally nice and malty. Roasted nuts and some caramel. Not a thick or heavy beer but still very chewy. I thought this was a quite tasty malty brew.

Tap at GT. Unfiltered orange-tan. Brewhouse sweet golden malt, light noble hop aroma. Maybe a rustic tarmhouse example. Sweet, some fruity Ale yast twang, not really any Lager notes. Pretty sub par, mediocre. Friendly 3.

Snifter at GT. Opaque brown-black body. Not much head, gone after a few minutes. Smooth and sweet, nice mixture between caramel, chocolate. Lightish on the booze. Smooth, middle of the road, but quite alright.

On tap at Grumpy Troll. Deep black brown body, stained glass corners. Thin soda head. Pretty decent for the style, but certainly leans into the alcohol. Coffee tinged burn. Roasty chocolate aroma. Come off like a lagered Stout. Oily, rich specialty malts. Enjoyable, but lacks the depth of a World Class example.

On tap at Grumpy Troll. Deep brown, some burgundy maybe. Thin, lacy head. Rich amber and chocolate malts balanced by some piny bitterness. Some buttery undertones. Just comes off to ringwoody for me, decent enough, but not so great. Smells like cheap, impotent beer. Cheap toffee.

Tap at Grumpy Troll. Unfiltered orange-brown. Half a beer dumped down the drain to get a pint. Steady creamy off-white head. Pronounced orange-citrus aroma. Creamy, almost nitro feel after the pour. Oily, classic IIPA tones in lot of respects, just about ten years late for this one to be impressive. Quite a beastly, decent offering.

Tap at GT. Slightly hazy yellow-orange-tan. Steady, frothy white head. Great appearance. The aroma, however, is muted, butter tinged. Some mild lager yeast tones, but it doesn’t really nail it. The hops are too biting, acrid. I want to like it, but there is a chemical harshness that takes away from any subtlety. Points for coming close, but needs some tweaking.
