Bottle Pours a clear redish golden amber with a nice dense creamy white head. Lots of thick persistant lacing too. Aroma is plenty of hops of course but it has a sweet side, balanced well. Flavors are a strong hop character but again, nothing overwelms you. Rich dark malts are balanced with eht citrusy hops and there is a woody mellow flavor that brings it all together. Standard hoppy bitter trailer, a bit grassy, but not too sharp. A nice IPA.

A clear brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is dominated by chocolate and coffee and is quite sweet. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. A very delicious beer.

Blond color. Crispy aroma, a bit malty and lightly smokey. Some nice malt taste, residual sweetness, and bold final bitterness. Very good as thirstquencher.

Cloudy blond color. Light malty aroma, a bit smelly. Almost a lager, poor Weizen character (because of the yeast, probably) and high bitterness. Not a bad beer, but different from the Weizen I’m used to.

Lots of hops go into this one. The 2004 vintage seems a bit better than last year’s brew. Maybe a little crisper? Nice copper/red color entices you to jump right in and makes this one a little darker than some of my favorite IPA’s. The flavor matches color, with a bit more of a malty flavor than most... which turns out surprisingly pleasant. Should be a year-round offering. 2006 vintage is nowhere near the product that Sierra Nevada has offered in the past. Flavors are buried under a wheat/grain dust body that covers up some of the more subtle offerings.

Bottle Pours a nice brown black with a medium tan head and substantial lacing. Aroma is much like a dry stour. A bit sour and biting. Flavor makes me think even more dry stout. Dry sour and a bit too harsh. Lacking a little of that sweet dark maltiness. Quite smokey and of old campfires. Very dry and somewhat chalky.

Bottle pours a hazy red-amber with a modest head and thick even lacing. Aromas are syrupy sweet hops and bown sugar. A sweet woody hops flavor is up front with a fairly sharp alchol bite. Smooth feel and moderate carbonation. A barley wine with a well deserved high score. HeRftYDrf is a beer-sharing FOOL !

2004 version. Pours is a nice red with a white head. Aroma is very hoppy almost winey. Flavor is a dry hoppy bite with some malts at the back end. Very fresh and full bodied. Good stuff!

Tap @ Lucky Baldwins, Pasadena Anonymous nose. Golden, low carbonation and head. A bit fruit in the flavor, but overall lightish with a bitter finish. Not too exiting.

Slightly hazy golden color, short white head. Aroma of cascade hops. Sweet and bitter taste, like an american pale should be i guess. Nice beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pale Ale on 26 Sep 2017 at 20:35 - Score: 7. Original review text: Klassiekertje
