A lightly hazed golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with rather cloying butterscotch notes, light grassy hops, so-so. In mouth, a nice sweet biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light grapefruit notes, light mineral notes, rather British. On tap at brewery.

A turbid yellow ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits and sulfur notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice tropical fruits, very nice. On tap at brewery.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark copper color with a finger and a half’s worth of white foamy head. Messy clingy lace speckles a bit and tries to spider web.
The aroma smells like Bent Hill sent it through a hop gun, but way over done, where it basically bleeds El Dorado hops coughing up some mosaic crisp sweet to bitter hops - the grassy and piney grip, then folds over floral leafy dryness. Separated sweet berry fruits.
The flavor has a huge hop burn like none other up front, bold enough to singe my tastebuds into oblivion. A full dry hop burn splits my throat in half pummeling the aftertaste and drying out the finish 100%.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a \"trying\" grip pummeling the quality of how sessionable this really wants to be. For 5.5%, this one should be a good/great beer to somewhat be able to take down fairly easy, but the grip of the bitterness seems to be a bit higher than 61 IBU’s.
Overall, another mess of a beer by Bent Hill. Please Bent Hill if you’re going to use a hop gun on your beers, get training on it first.

375ml bottle from the brewery. 15 months since purchase. Clear, dark, cola brown. Ring of dense, tan head. Nose has robust maple syrup. Charred wood. Sweet smoke. Some stewed stone fruit. Smells like baked prunes. Taste is sticky sweet. Fruity and ripe. Some booze. Gets a little phenolic. Slick mouthfeel. Drinks fairly easy for the ABV. Syrupy finish. Really good.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with an off white close to tan foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly speckled lacing.
The aroma takes graham cracker crumbs flowing evenly over vanilla bean. But even the ash is pretty bold in this. Molasses to caramel malty sweetness.
The flavor yields to the sweet graham cracker crumbs first and then the molasses to caramel malts slide in for a sticky fashion. Blended sweet to sticky aftertaste. Sly sticky sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation feels good. Stickiness feels acceptable.
Overall, closest to an English porter with a Bent Hill sort of twist. This one actually works. I would have this again. Why is this brewery so up and down?

Bottle at level 42 thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, maple syrup, oak, sweet coffee, cake, brown sugar and smoke. The taste is sweet tangy, toasty, maple syrup, coffee cake, some acidity, charred action, smoke and warming alcohol with a smoked, oaky finish. Medium+ Body and soft carbonation. A bit tangy and imbalanced. Fair at best.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Leighton, 23/01/17. Light black with a moderate tan cap. Nose is treacle toffee, spice, sticky maple syrup, chocolate, light charr, honey. Taste comprises more maple syrup, toffee, light spice, dark fruit rinds, earthy, charr, cocoa powder. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average Impy stout ... touch on the sweet side and disjointed.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark ruddy amber color with a fizzy white head that left no lacing.
The aroma had dried floral to burnt piney hops flowing into burnt bready malts.
The flavor takes those aromas and pretty much keeps it fairly bland. Burnt bready aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Once again, a hard to take down beer by this brewer. Not exactly a good feel, excessive grip on my tongue through the bitterness.
Overall, not sure why Bent Hill is still in this brewing game, their beers seem to get worse.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark brown color with a fizzy white head that died off into oblivion and had no lacing.
The aroma had stale bready malts, sharp soury nuts and some yeasty notes.
The flavor had that yeasty to soury nutty to burnt maltiness. Sly sour to malty aftertaste. Sour finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a hard to take down soury feel on my tongue. Not that sessionable. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, pretty sure that this wasn’t the intention of the brewer to create a sour brown ale so I would chalk this up as that they’re still not cleaning their tanks adequately.
