On tap @ Rattle & Hum, New York. Pours hazy yellow with a creamy head. Aroma is sweet with fruity yeast, peach, and light spices, as well as orange peel and lychee. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart with orange peel and spices.

On tap @ Blind Tiger, New York. Pours black with a creamy finger thick mocha head. Aroma is nice and malty with raisins, prunes and tobacco, as well as leather, vanilla and bourbon. Full creamy body with almost no carbonation at all. Flavour is sweet with malts and tobacco, but not quite up to the promising aroma. Still nice though.

Cityfresh Associated Supermarket, Bushwick growler: Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is grass, earthy hops with a substantial malt backbone. Light citrus flavor. This struck me as a very light, British style IPA. It is pleasant enough to drink, but not that interesting.

Tap at Gingerman. Pours much darker than in was expecting. Nose of roasted coffee. Tastes of subdued coffee, bread crust, earth, and licorice. Quite mild on palate. Nice but not amazing. I need to get back to England to enjoy some proper milds as I’ve been craving lately.

Stags head draft. They seem to love wandering star here. Pours golden with floral citrus nose. Tastes of grapefruit and tropical fruit, hay, vanilla, ginger, and some piney resin. A tad watery It seemed though without a ton of depth.

Tap at the Blind Tiger, NYC, 20/05/13. Golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is malt, light hops, caramel, grain. Taste follows allied to the addition of berry fruits and light rye notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter notes in the finish. Ok if a little uninspiring.

Drought. Reddish amber color with beige creamy small head, doughy aroma, sweetish taste, low carbination, abrupt finish. Too mellow, I’d expected more of a bite, bit it’s fine for accompanying spicy food.

The Bodega, Brooklyn tap ($5): Pours brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is slightly fruity and some roasted malt. Taste is really full for a 4.4% alcohol ale. Taste is slightly sweet, with a nice malty presence. Hops are pretty minimal as one would expect. Good beer.
