Like Mrs. Dash, this one hits the palate with a bit of lemon and spice. A clean, refreshing yet dry pilsener. Not my favorite style by any means, but I can understand why Prima is highly regarded.

This tasty concoction starts with a fruity, alcohol aroma, a thin, white head, and streaming carbonation. Body is straw-colored (I guess you could call it golden), with a pleasant, smooth, fruity bite. There is also a touch of spice. Lasting aftertaste of malt and alcohol. Not my favorite style, but this one seems well-done.

Colour: true to its name, golden, slight cold haze and maybe a touch orangey; good white head and not too regular-sized bubbles. Nose: alcohol impression and malt sugars Taste: sweet and dry at the same time. Sweetness links itself immediately to the thoughts of alcohol. Extreme dryness in the taste, however not tannin-like. Aftertaste: after a few sips, a bitterness as from orange peel appears, but never comes to the foreground. The flavour betrays some spiciness, but it is unclear which particular ones. Mouthfeel: warming - but alcohol makes it thinner than the final gravity probably is. In Belgium, this beer would be called a Duvel-clone. There seems indeed little doubt as to the origin of its conception, the exotic spices nothwithstanding. Unlike some others, however, I really cannot find a real reason to prefer it to the real Duvel.

A solid, smooth IPA. It seems like most beers of this style are extremely similar, with little variation between (most) brewers. For a "Hop Devil," this one has decent, but not great, bite. It seems to me Bells Two-Hearted ale has more hops bite. Not as complex as Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, either, but still not a bad choice.

Hugely hoppy! This is quite a difference from some imperial stouts (namely, Expedition Stout, or even Founders Imperial Stout). The beer quickly takes on a rich, malty, roasted flavor after the initial hop bitterness. A very tasty concoction; a semi-divine nectar, if you will.

Colour: deep red-brown; yellow-brownish head, thick, creamy, regular. Nose: intense aromas of fruit/gingercake, some exotic fruit as melon or papaya, also hints of port wine. Taste: hops first and after, but in between tantalising glimpses of frangipane or marzipan-covered fruitcake. Great balance (palate) as, being so hop bitter, it never really shows, unless by paying special attention to this. Mouthfeel: even cooled down, this beer is rich and feeding, with a marvellous warming alcohol-effect. Aftertaste: all the above fades out, ever so slowly, making one long for the next sip. This is truly a superb beer! Great in aromas as in balance, one wishes for a 750ml version - to end truly horizontal.

Completely opaquely black in colour with a thin brown head. Small bubbles appear on part of the glass at certain areas. Fantastic smell with a hint of hops, malt and sweetness. Smells almost like heaven. Full-bodied taste with a great chocolate taste and many different 'roasted' tones. A full malt taste with a subtle amount of hops throughout the taste. A great overall beer, definately worth picking up if you are in the mid-atlantic -- noting it is much more reasonable in price than other imperials, such as Samuel Smiths, etc.

Completely golden in colour with a tan coloured head. Sweet smell with hints of anise and bananas. The taste is completely complex with taste of fruit and spices. Full-bodied with lingering malt and a definate alcohol taste. Definately tastes better than it looks! After the pour, I was wondering how this beer had a rating so high....but after the taste, I realised! Great offering from a good brewery!

Orangey-amber; aroma of sweet malts, tart raspberries...interesting. Sweet perfumy malts lead the way across the palate, trailed by a sourish wild yeast influence. It works well in this beer at its current levels, but if unchecked could ruin bottles held in the cellar.

Dark brown colour with hazyness....just like a great barley wine. Great sweet smell with hints of banana, and other fruits. Also a slight hoppyness in the smell arises. Full-bodied beer with a great malty flavour. A sweet, complex and full-bodied taste leads to a great beer! More full-bodied and complex than Anchor's Old Foghorn and a great overall beer!
