On tap at Addictions Bar & Grill, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a wonderful balance of roasted malt and piney hops - very robust. Flavour is robust, with a great balance of roasted malt and piney hops. Dry, robust and nicely bitter on the finish. An excellent by-the-books black IPA.

On tap at Addictions Bar & Grill, pours a hazy dull copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops and biscuity malt in good balance. Flavour is robust and full of piney hops upfront, with a bit of hop resins and dry caramely bready malt. Standard but exceptionally well-brewed. A really good IPA.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out fairly subtle barrels, along with caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is sweet, with lots of caramel and dark fruits upfront. Very subdued barrel presence. Lacking complexity but easy to drink.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out subdued bourbon, wood, and a little cocoa. Flavour brings out heaps of bourbon upfront, followed by a little vanilla and some roast. The barrels used are really nice. Complex and dynamic. Fantastic.

16oz can (can 4 of the set of 7) picked up at the brewery pours with a hop hazed deep gold body that supports a full tall tan head of foam. The aroma offers up grapefruit, mango, grassiness, tangelo, orange zest and a floral kick at the end of the draw. The taste delivers a nice bitter punch of grapefruit and tangerine blending into a bitter to resiny pine hoppiness. To midway the hops get a little more bitter and resiny before the modest malt backbone is noticed. Into the finish this is mostly bitter grapefruit and some orange zest giving way to a bit more pine hop resiny bitterness here and there. Another sip after it warms reveals a layer of bitter floral hops too. Nice hoppy offering. Would have been great to try really fresh as I think this has some age on it.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and pine aroma with light floral notes. Grapefruit and light tropical fruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and tropical fruit lingers with light pine.

32oz growler pours with a clear amber body that has some ruby red hues and supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up caramel like malts, brown sugar, dates and prunes with a mild sharp booziness. The taste is similar where I get prunes, figs and dates amid booze that has a faint warming to it. Behind the esters are malts, some molasses and a brown sugar sensation that rises up just as the booziness ratchets a few rungs higher. Maybe cellar time will smooth this out.
