The year is 1993…
… and England have failed to qualify for the World Cup, 2 Unlimited are Top of the Pops with their dance smash No Limit, Shane Warne has bowled the ‘Ball of the Century’ and Rooster’s Brewing Co. has just hatched - forever changing the shape of beer in the UK. Originators and innovators of quality, new world pale ales, with an emphasis on flavour and aroma, our beers start to stand out and turn heads amongst a sea of brown beer, with Yankee (our flagship pale ale) leading the way.

375ml bottle from Roosters. Hazed golden colour, white foam head and aroma of lemon, citrus rind, wood, oak barrel, funk. Taste is sour, citric, lemony rind, brandy note, and woody, barrel, some funk, tannin and light bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tart soured lemon citric finish. Nicely drinkable.

Canned. from Systembolaget. Black, mid sized head. Aroma of pears, grapefruit, coffee and blackened toast. Mid sweet with medium body and firm, crisp mouthfeel. Earthy toast, pears and citrus. Long bitter finish. Subtly complext, yet with modern style hop forwardness. Brilliant!

440ml can. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, berries, dark chocolate malts. Taste is hoppier than the aroma suggests, more citrusy, grapefruit, piney resin, then the dark fruits, berries and chocolate malts, bittersweet with the finish more bitter. Medium bodied.
Feels like an actual blend of the two beers - aroma is more like Old Peculier and taste is more Baby-faced Assassin. Ends up more of a hoppy Old Ale as opposed to a true BIPA.

Drucken på Cask på Bishop Gustaf Malmö. Fruktig och bitter med lätt kropp. Nästan lite saftig, med bittra teblad, löv, lakritsroten och äppelskal. Gott
