Bottle. Hazy deep golden, offwhite lace. Light smoked juicy aroma, medium full juicy base, light berry, light smoke, wide metallic, honey, chewy. Very drinkable, interesting and quaffable.

Bottle. Rather clear bright amber color with white head. Aroma is mild smoke, noble hops. Taste is mild smoke, caramel, but not too sweet, a tiny dash metallic but somehow it works. Rather high carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Classic Franconian quality, I like this one very much.

"Hermann's Bierwerkstatt Schwarze Madonna", Flasche vom nicht genug zu lobenden Landbierparadies-Versand, 1.8.2025. - Fast schwarz. - In der Nase massives Röstmalz, Mokka, ein Hauch von Lakritz und gut darauf abgestimmte hopfenwürzig-herbale Hopfung. - Antrunk schlank und biegsam aber intensiv röstmalzig, kalter Mokka, Anklänge an Asche, Stout-artig. Kaum merkliche Süße, gekonnt abgeschmeckt mit allerfeinster Kaffeesäure. Milde aber elegante herbale Hopfung mit einem Hauch von Petersilie. Durchschnittlich rezent, vielleicht ein klein wenig dünn. Im Abgang rund malzbitter und blaß hopfenbitter. - Sehr gelungenes, schlankes aber tief röstiges, dezent gehopftes Schwarzbier aus Franken. Klasse!

Hermann's Bierwerkstatt Weißenstädter Hopfengarten, Flasche per Post vom Landbierparadies. - Lichtes Goldbraun, schwach trüb; kurzlebiger Schaum. - In der Nase sehr milde, blaß zitronige und herbale Hopfung, ein wenig frischer als bei einem Hellen aber keineswegs pilswertig. - Antrunk schlank und spritzig mit dünnem hellen Malz und blasser, mild zitrusfruchtiger und leise herbaler Hopfung. Knappe Restsüße, passende zart fruchtige Säure. Gut rezent. Im Abgang blasse Herbe. - Von einem Bier, das sich Hopfengarten nennt, hatte ich mir deutlich mehr Hopfeneinsatz versprochen. Allenfalls die leisen zitronigen Züge der milden Hopfung gehen hier in Richtung Pilsener, aber die Herbe fehlt. Für ein Helles wiederum fehlt die solide Malzigkeit. Enttäuschend. (12.4.2024.)
