500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Slightly hazy golden body with a white head. Light malty aroma with a hint of fruit. Flavor is light fruity, hint of malt and some bitterness. Medium body and short aftertaste. Drinkable, but there is actually very little going on here.

Small tan head. Opaque black body. Perfumy roasty dried fruit aroma with chocolatey notes. Dryish roasty earthy cocos taste with chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy cocos and chocolate aftertaste with biscuity nutty fruity notes. Some licorice and cough drops, too. Nice, drinkable, interesting, complex. (0.5l bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger.)

Bottle, at Nærbø Ølfestival. A very dark brown beer, topped by a small, dark beige head. Roasted, coffeeish nose with licorice. The flavor has a light bitterness to keep the roasted malts and licorice company, leading into a lighlty meaty and bitter end. Full-bodied, smooth and dry on the palate. A nice one, indeed, definitely far from your regular Norwegian Christmas beer. Not sure if it’s even made for Christmas, but that doesn’t matter, it’s well suited for most time of the year. 111022

Cloudy dark brown colour with a tan head. Yeasty and malty aroma. Moderate sweet and some roasted malt in the flavour. Strange watery texture on this one. A bit suprisingly really, because of the thick cloudy body.
