About
We started brewing in Burton-Upon-Trent in 1834. Then in 1898 we got itchy feet. So we moved down the road to the Albion brewery. We still like it so we’ve not moved again since.

We came to Burton for the water. Well, for the rocks the town was built on to be precise. The water trickles down through a thick layer of gypsum before we bring it back up again through our well. That’s what gives our beers the depth of flavour, character and crisp refreshing bitterness that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Orange-tinged copper; rich aroma of earth, candied fruits, toffee. Odd flavour profile has the same elements of the aroma, which totally clash with one another, and then a huge wave of diacetyl crashes over your tongue like a runaway train...and you know what that makes it - a trainwreck.

Rather too flat looking beer, but its malty and hoppy freshness makes this beer worth trying.

A very weak interpretation of the IPA-style. It's just not hoppy enough! An IPA for cowards.

Rerate, cask conditioned at The Lord Rosebery, Scarborough. Brown colour, creamy head, nice lacing. Fruity and slightly sulphurous aroma. The flavour is fruity and slightly acidic, with (too) moderate hops. Okay.

Rich coloured beer with a decent head. The beer has a typical english ale aroma, but its taste is more fruity than other ales. The beer is very drinkable.

Heady beer with little activity. The taste and aroma is strongly hoppy (like so many English ales), to its failure.
