Clear deep red - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Nice malts, rich but not thick. Good dark toffee, trace of creamy sweetness. Mild apple in the mid and a little bruised pear. The back end brings very mild floral spice. Minerally semi dry finish. Toffee linger. Nice.

Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern, Ludlow. Cask. Clear pale gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Nice condition. Light malts, softish and with a little creamy sweetness. Light esters are well integrated. Modest citric hops on the back end, Light finish. It’s all very smooth and civilised and pretty drinkable!

Cask @ Leggers Beer Festival, Dewsbury. Copper coloured with a thin head. Has a mild spice in its nose with an initial maltiness in taste. There’s a small lingering nuttiness in its aftertaste.

Had this cask, gravity at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Saturday 23rd August 2014 Pours clear gold with a sprinkling of white bubbles atop; good clarity. Old fashioned in style, malt forward, safe hoppiness. Not particularly crisp or hoppy or indeed that fruity. The malt dominates. Fine. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9

On cask at Housmans. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - grainy and oxidised. Nothing else. Taste - grain and toffee. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry astringent finish. Overall - not enjoyable so might need to retaste as their other beers are definitely better than this.

On cask at Housmans in Church Stretton. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - granny Smith apples and a touch of digestive biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a solid bitter.

Cask at the Shovel, Lye. Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa and bread. Taste has orange and bread with touches of coffee.

Cask half @ The Sun Inn, Clun. Found it a touch sweeter than last time, very drinkable, wish I'd got a pint. July 27th - 2014 - Pint @ The Bridges, Ratlinghope following a 6 mile walk through the beautiful Shropshire Hills. Fruity aroma, strong spicy taste with bitter grapefruit, sprightly citrus and a fresh vibrant taste that belies its meagre 3.6% strength.

500ml bottle thanks to Robin F. Pours a bright clear gold with nice foamy head. Quite a nice flavoursome taste with a clean lagery feel, the slightest touch of spice, a hint of sweet caramel, clean malts, the slightest bitterness, very quaffable. Should be a regular brew!
