On cask at The Holy Inadequate, Etruria. Copper body with an off white head. Sharp hoppy aroma. Good fresh tasting malts with a reasonable amount of sweetness and fruitiness. Very nice.

Cask @ Three Tuns Inn, Bishops Castle. A great stout with dry coffee, a delicious sweetness, some molasses, dark treacle and a smooth drinkable texture. Very nice.

Dark brown, fruity, liquoricey nose is so old school. Taste is the same - deep fruity and slightly tangy old ale taste. A step back in time, this has educational value if nothing else. For drinking pleasure, I’m really not sure where this fits - it’s like a light-bodied old ale.

Cask @ Winter Beer Festival, Prince of Wales, Shrewsbury. Nice and smooth with a brilliantly subtle caramel & chocolate influence. Tasty.

[Bottle from the Hop Pocket Wine Company, Herefordshire] Deep gold with a moderate white head and a too-strong fizz. Grassy up front with a little cardboard and a minerally bitterness in the finish. Bit like a pilsener. Bit of lemon comes through afterwards. Not for me this one, although I imagine it’d be a bit better in cask.

Cask at EBF XVI, 09/11/13. Mid black with a good sized bubbly tan covering. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, light malt bill, brown sugars. Taste comprises cocoa, light roast malts, earthy cocoa, leather, vanilla essence. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry lightly roasted closure. Decent enough stout affair.

Cask at The Armoury, Shrewsbury. Pours pitch black with black molasses, treacle & liquorice, with a thick sweetness of raisins, plums and just a touch of ginger. Very nice.
